001: The New Rules of Founder-Leadership.
In this inaugural episode, you’ll learn what to expect from the podcast - and I’m giving you 3 new rules of founder-leadership to help you build something that’s fulfilling AND lucrative. You don’t have to choose.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER SHIFT PODCAST
this podcast helps you build a new kind of legacy.
In The Founder Shift Podcast, we’re exploring the big shifts that help growth-stage founders (especially women) create a new paradigm of success. Because we’re sick of hearing that it’s an empire or nothing. We’re over this bro thing where we win at all costs, including the cost of ourselves.
We want to build something expansive AND fulfilling. Bigger AND healthier. Powerful AND human.
Not one or the other. It can be both.
Each episode features founders and experts who are building highly successful companies with structure, culture, and leadership designed for sustainability. These are practical, nuanced, and personal conversations that show how growth can feel lighter, more precise, and longer-lasting.
your host
Jessica Noon, founder of Daybreak Ideas, has been the right-hand people strategist to growing founders for nearly two decades. She specializes in the design and scale of new strategic functions, designing healthy and powerful cultures, and approaching business growth with a people lens.
this is your space
If you’re a multi-six figure founder with a team you’re outgrowing, and you’re either in growth stage or at the precipice of it with the goal to soar past the $1M mark with a team that sustains you, then you’ve found the right place.
I’m going to show you how to create long-term value and scale without sacrificing yourself in the process.
what’s new
I’ve got something really fun in development…
and it’s a secret 🤫
Okaayy, I guess it’s not THAT big of a secret, since I made a whole wEbSiTe sEcTiOn about it. 🙃
But it IS my in-depth guide to reinventing all the status quo startup stuff you always hear about.
You know the advice I mean. It’s about forcing money to happen, and kinda “F” everything else. That is not really helping society or humanity right now. It’s certainly not helping women founders at all.
So I think it’s time to invent something different.
I’m taking the top five bro myths of scale that you hear every day, and exploring:
How they came to be and what they’re actually supposed to mean (there ARE things to learn).
How and why implementing them as-is causes problems down the line.
A more nuanced take that still produces growth and success, but on our terms.
I’ll leave you with new mantras to help you build something better.
Right now I’m writing and recording it. And I’m only releasing this on an as-requested basis… it won’t be available to anybody other than those who sign up for it!
Come join the fun!
be my guest
Are you…
A highly experienced founder who’s “been there, scaled that” and wants to help other founders by sharing the biggest learnings you wish you got earlier, your “hacks” and techniques for becoming a millionaire-level leader, and your advice for people building strategic teams for the first time?
A growth-stage founder “in the weeds” of scaling right now? Want to share your biggest growth design or team questions and get help right on the podcast - or want to help other founders in your position with lightbulb moments you’ve had along the way?
An expert serving growth-stage founders in a different area of the scaling process (not culture, org design, HR, or leadership)? Marketing, branding, client experience, finance, revenue, product, ops, admin, efficiency, process - they’re just a few that come to mind!
If yes… let’s talk!

Here are some topics I love nerding out about:
Culture: Designing it, making it more than a bunch of words on a poster, and fixing it when it gets away from you
Org Design: non-traditional, non-theoretical custom builds for talent and teams that just make sense in real life for founders and their goals
“LTV” People Strategy: How to create lifetime value (LTV) with every role you design into your business, no matter who sits in the seat. And how to make sure everyone who sits in every seat is a well-matched team player, with the right skills, who cares about your mission.
Great leadership practices - it’s a skill, not a personality type
How to give yourself promotions as you grow: from operator to CEO, and beyond
Building a more human version of growth and scale: getting beyond status quo, thinking differently, and how your team can become a major engine of growth
